A comprehensive approach to identify children with disability through capacity building of government and NGO health workers and disability service mapping in Bangladesh
Today, “A comprehensive approach to identify children with disabilities through capacity building of Government and NGO health workers and disability service mapping in Bangladesh" project has been launched with the aim of early identification of children with disabilities and to strengthen the capacity of relevant stakeholders.
Ms Saima Wazed Hossain, Chairperson, Bangladesh National Advisory Committee for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Member of the World Health Organization’s Expert Advisory Panel on Mental Health, and Chairperson, Shuchona Foundation graced the occasion and inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest.
faith Bangladesh and icddr,b will be responsible for implementation of the project while Shuchona Foundation will provide technical assistance and be responsible for conducting tool validation, disability service mapping and field implementation. The project is funded by the UNICEF Bangladesh.

প্রতিবন্ধীদের উন্নয়নে চাই পৃথক অধিদফতরমানববন্ধনে বক্তাদের দাবি

প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিদের উন্নয়নে একটি অধিদফতর চালুর দাবি জানিয়েছে প্রতিবন্ধী সংশ্লিষ্ট একটি সংগঠনের নেতৃবৃন্দ। তারা বলেছেন, নারীর প্রতিনিধিত্ব যেমন পুরুষ করতে পারে না; তেমনি প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তির প্রতিনিধিত্ব অপ্রতিবন্ধী কোন ব্যক্তি করতে পারে না। প্রতিনিধিত্বের ক্ষেত্রে সবখানে অপ্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তির অবস্থানের ফলে প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিরা সুযোগ পাচ্ছে না বলেও অভিযোগ করেন তারা।
