Background

Training plays a vital role in enhancing creativity, problem-solving, and skill-building. In today’s world, where education is not only about academics but also about developing life skills, arts and crafts emerge as a powerful medium of self-expression and learning. Creative activities not only bring joy but also strengthen fine motor skills, concentration, patience, and independence, especially for children with special needs.

To promote creative teaching and parenting practices, Faith Bangladesh and Brighter Life School, in collaboration with Favicryl, are organizing a hands-on training program titled “Craft & Create: Explore Your Creativity.” This training is specially designed for teachers and parents to enhance their creative abilities and to apply these skills meaningfully in classrooms and at home.

Course Description and Objective

This interactive training will immerse participants in practical arts and crafts techniques that can be adapted for both educational and therapeutic purposes. It aims to foster creativity, encourage innovative thinking, and equip teachers and parents with skills that support vocational training, classroom engagement, and special needs education.

The objectives of the training are to:

  • Provide participants with practical craft-making skills using diverse materials.

  • Encourage creativity as a tool for effective teaching and parenting.

  • Enable teachers to integrate vocational and creative activities into school programs.

  • Support parents in engaging children at home through creative and skill-based activities.

  • Promote inclusion by using art as a medium for communication and growth for children with special needs.

Expected Outcome

Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Create a variety of crafts with readily available materials.

  • Apply craft-making skills in the classroom and at home for child development.

  • Support children with special needs in developing fine motor skills, creativity, and self-expression.

  • Design engaging, productive, and therapeutic activities for children.

  • Contribute to vocational programs that promote independence and lifelong skills.

The training will cover the following areas:

  • Introduction to Creative Learning – Understanding the role of arts and crafts in education and therapy.

  • Group Work: Collaborative craft projects for teamwork and idea sharing.

  • Brainstorming Sessions: Encouraging participants to design creative learning activities.

  • Case Examples: Showcasing how crafts have been successfully used in special needs education.
